Qualified from the London Hospital Medical
College. Has been the Principal in the Tarland Practice since 1985. He has a
special interest in management of diabetes and heart disease. In late 2002 he was awarded his MRCGP by a process called MAP - Membership by Assessment of Performance. This was a newly introduced method of obtaining the MRCGP, and for most applicants it was proving to be quite a challenge. (In fact the Royal College have since abandoned this process as too cumbersome.) He was only the 3rd GP in Scotland to gain the MRCGP by this means. He is an undergraduate tutor for the Universities of Dundee and Aberdeen. Outside of General Practice, he undertakes a weekly flexible sigmoidoscopy clinic at Aboyne Hospital. He speaks some German.

Dr. Milne joined the practice on 1st
October 2003, bringing with her a wealth of experience gained as a Principal
of the Portlethen practice. She holds the Family Planning certificate, and has a special
interest in screening and the elderly.

Diploma in Diabetic
Management in Primary Care. She also has a qualification in Chronic
Obstructive Airways Disease. Elaine is available by appointment and is
a good point of first contact with the practice for many problems,
especially women's health, asthma, diabetes, stopping smoking, dressings,
tests and investigations.
