Qualified from the London Hospital Medical
College. Has been the Principal in the Tarland Practice since 1985. He has a
special interest in management of diabetes and heart disease. In late 2002 he was awarded his MRCGP by a process called MAP - Membership by Assessment of Performance. This was a newly introduced method of obtaining the MRCGP, and for most applicants it was proving to be quite a challenge. (In fact the Royal College have since abandoned this process as too cumbersome.) He was only the 3rd GP in Scotland to gain the MRCGP by this means. He is a Clinical Tutor for the Universities of Dundee and Aberdeen. Outside of General Practice, he undertakes flexible sigmoidoscopy clinica at Aboyne Hospital, the Jubilee Hospital in Huntly, and occasionally in Aberdeen. He speaks some German.

Dr. Ritchie has just joined the practice in
April 2011. He has been working in Kent for most of his career, and has now
returned to his native Scotland. I am sure everyone will wish him a warm
welcome, and a happy time with the practice.

Diploma in Diabetic
Management in Primary Care. She also has a qualification in Chronic
Obstructive Airways Disease. Elaine is available by appointment and is
a good point of first contact with the practice for many problems,
especially women's health, asthma, diabetes, stopping smoking, dressings,
tests and investigations.

nursing in the community.

attached to our practice. Sally is mostly involved in Child Developmental
